7 Months

7 Months

With Christmas and all the traveling I totally missed the 7 month post. So here it is.

Here are the things that he is doing now.

He loves food, although he is not a huge fan of green foods. I can get him to eat them if they are paired with something orange. I'm hoping he won't turn orange, he sure likes orange foods.

Sweet Potatoes
Green Beans
Apples
Carrots
Peas
Butternut Squash

He can roll both directions, although he shows preference towards going left. He'll roll left until he hits the couch, then he'll continue to roll towards the couch as if he is trying to roll into it.

We are going to celebrated our first Christmas as a family. We decorated for Christmas and as soon as we put the Christmas tree up Peter spent a lot of time under it. I didn't know he could roll that well, I guess he was saving it for the tree.

We got family pictures done when he was 6 1/2 months old. Emily from church took them for us. Even though he didn't feel like smiling the pictures turned out great.

He is still waking up once a night, but not until 5am. That's not bad. After I feed him, he goes right back to sleep until 7:30 - 8am. Peter still take 2 naps a day, and I am very thankful for that.

Well that's about it for 7 months. I'm hoping to do better on the eighth month post.

Don't you just wonder what he's thinking?
What a sweet face!

Left ......................and Right.

So my Rolly Polly has been one directional for 9 days now. It has been quite the entertainment for me. I would set him on a blanket, and he would roll to the left, over and over again. He'd continue to roll until he met an obstacle (ex. the couch).

Yesterday I watched him roll to the couch. So I moved him back to the blanket again. Guess where he went after that. Yes you guessed it, the couch again. So I left him there. He tried to turn into the couch for 15 minutes. Finally he rolled the other direction. That's right we are now bi-directional.
This means two things for me.....
1. Nothing is safe in the Living room
and
2. Crawling is closer now.

Rolly Polly.

Peter is quite the Rolly Polly all of the sudden. Today he rolled over front-back, then back to front. He repeated that sequence five times in a row. Almost all the way across the living room. The days of laying him on a blanket are over.

Fun stuff.

Also an update on food. We started with butternut squash, which he LOVES. Then green beans, which he'll take it or leave it. Then yesterday we started peas. NOT a big fan of peas. He pretty much spit out every bite. Today I paired the peas with squash and we managed to get a little more down. He's gonna have to try them 4 days in a row, whether he likes it or not. Next we'll do sweet potatoes, which I'm sure he'll love.

So on the menu so far...
Butternut squash
Green Beans
Peas
